So I have been going back and forth on the idea of gardening. I love the idea of having lush, beautiful plants with vegetables all over our yard, but the work involved seems daunting. The other day I was at a neighbor’s house commenting on their beautiful garden and they gave me some plants they weren’t going to use, so Maya and I planted them. We have zucchini, green beans, snap peas and beets. Maya really enjoyed the planting and made up a song while we dug up the garden to get ready. Along with the hearty strawberries left over from 2 years ago, we’re also going to plant some tomatoes soon. It will be a nice test to see how it all goes and Maya is loving it. I was surprised at how cheap the organic soil was at Lowe’s the other day, so we bought 3 big bags and we’re going to do the whole area. Not sure what else to plant.

Now we are striving to eat more organic, natural products without so many additives, preservatives and junk. We’re not perfect and we’re not snobs. We will sometimes eat bad food that we know has junk in it, but we are striving to better ourselves a little at a time. This blog is going to be about the different ways we eat and live healthier and some of the interesting facts that we find out about foods and junk around us.
